Where to park with good judgment
Always prefer a well-lit spot, ideally with visible cameras or near the entrance of a place with security. The difference between a spot at the back of a lot and one near the entrance isn't just convenience — it's visibility.
When parking, position the car so you can back straight out without maneuvering in a tight space — this cuts down the time you're distracted when leaving, which is when you're most vulnerable.
Avoid leaving anything visible inside the car — bags, chargers, devices — even if they seem low-value. A broken window over something worthless is an unnecessary, avoidable cost.
